Project Overview & Responsibilities
Project Overview
DocMorris set out to better support chronic patients by understanding their daily challenges with medication routines, prescriptions, and fragmented care journeys.
My task was to lead the discovery, research, and early product strategy to define how DocMorris could create secure, empathetic, and user-centered digital services for this high-need group. The research formed the foundation for key initiatives including the Medication Subscription Service, a personalized Health Guide, and early concepts for the DocMorris Health Ecosystem.
My Role & Responsibilities
Led discovery: research framework, objectives, hypotheses, and success criteria
Conducted stakeholder mapping to align business, technical, and compliance needs
Ran co-creation and ideation workshops across product teams
Planned and moderated 12 in-depth interviews with chronic patients
Synthesized insights via personas, affinity maps, empathy maps & user stories
Designed user journeys, wireframes, and early prototypes in Figma
Ensured GDPR-compliant handling of all sensitive health and interview data
Balanced user needs with business goals and technical feasibility

Challenges & Approach
Challenge | Approach & Solution |
|---|---|
Highly diverse user group | Interview Insights & Research; Clustered participants into four personas (“Internet-savvy Critics,” “Optimists,” “Uncertain Type,” “Life-affirming Type”) to guide UX strategy |
Sensitive health & | Ensured full GDPR compliance, anonymized data handling, and integrated Privacy by Design principles |
Balancing user, business & technical goals | Regular alignment with Product, Legal & IT to ensure that design decisions met business objectives and technical feasibility |
Complex stakeholder landscape | Created a Stakeholder Powermap with clear communication and decision pathways to maintain project transparency and alignment |

Tools & Methods
Area | Tools/Method |
|---|---|
UX Research | Guided Interviews, Contextual Inquiry, Desk Research, Personas, Jobs-to-Be-Done |
Synthesis & Ideation | Affinity Mapping, Empathy Maps, Co-Creation Workshops, How-Might-We |
UX Design | Figma, Miro, User Journeys, Wireframes, Prototyping |
Agile Collaboration | JIRA, Confluence, Sprint Planning, Review Sessions |
Evaluation & Prioritization | Impact/Effort Matrix, Feature Scoring, Story Mapping |
Accessibility | WCAG 2.1, clear hierarchy, plain language |
Privacy & Compliance | GDPR, Privacy by Design, coordination with Legal & Security teams |
Documentation | Research Repository (Confluence), Reports & Presentations (PowerPoint, Miro) |

Outcome
The research revealed that chronic patients need clearer digital support for managing prescriptions, medication routines, and health information. Insights showed that fragmented experiences, lack of guidance, and limited transparency created confusion and reduced engagement—especially for newly diagnosed patients navigating unfamiliar healthcare journeys.
Based on these findings, I helped shape concepts and service ideas that introduced streamlined medication flows, personalized guidance, and trust-building communication patterns aligned with privacy and compliance standards. The discovery research identified several unmet user needs around orientation, education, and long-term support, which informed the development of new healthcare features and ecosystem concepts.
Outcome & Implemented Solutions
Medication Subscription Service
Personalized Health Guide
Educational courses for newly diagnosed patients
Disease-specific article series and guided content journeys
Early concepts for a symptom checker
Personalized consultation and support offerings
New persona models integrated into strategy
Prototype of a holistic Health Ecosystem
Business Impact
Access to new high-retention patient segments
Increased conversion for chronic medication and prescription flows
Improved long-term engagement through educational healthcare content
Stronger positioning in Digital Health & Adherence
Established a scalable, user-centered innovation framework for future healthcare services
